SATURDAY

LEZ'SK8, Seminole-Wekiva Trail, 8:00AM
Calling all Beginner & Recreational Skaters -
Mark your calendars on Saturdays at 8:00AM for "LEZ'SK8"! This is a easy "no sweat", conversational, fun adult skate from The Shoppes of Oakmonte's patio by Panera's (just west of I-4 on Lake Mary Blvd.) heading south on the Seminole-Wekiva Trail and returning by 9:00AM. You will be helped in improving your skating skills. Bring your someone special with you and come on out! Beginners, here is your chance to participate in group skating while developing your skills! For more information call Ken Holt at (407) 310-4269 before attending!

Beat the Heat Saturday Mornings on the West Orange Trail
This is a "pick-your-speed" skate on the West Orange Trail, beginning at Killarney Station (mile 0 - Map It!) or Winter Garden Station.  Time and location varies depending on the time of year and the expected weather.  Check the WOSABE web site or contact Don at wosabe@cfl.rr.com or 352-874-2758 for details. You can also just show up, but there's no guarantee anyone will be there if we don't know you're coming. Co-hosted by Central Florida Trailbladers and West Orlando Skate & Bike Enthusiasts (WOSABE). PLEASE RSVP via the WOSABE web site.

TUESDAY

Tuesday Night Urban Metro Skate, 7:30PM until aprox. 10:00PM
Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando ( Map It!) - Skating Level - Advanced. Not for Beginners! Everyone skates at their own risk! This is currently a relatively fast and long skate around Greater Orlando using the sidewalks and streets. If you would like to join us and feel that we may be too fast or go too far for you, please call Jennings ahead of time to see if we can modify it to meet your needs. Flashing red tail-light and white headlamp or flashlight are mandatory after dark so please bring them with you! Helmet and wrist guards are highly recommended! Knee pads, elbow pads, and water or sports drink are also recommended. We gather in the parking lot of the Day building located at 605 E. Robinson St. starting at about7:30 pm. Skate Away at about 7:45 pm! Skate length 13-26 miles at 12-16mph. We now have several different routes and often go exploring, so call ahead if want to attend and please be on-time! For more information, call Jennings at (407) 761-3917.

If you want to learn what Urban Skating is all about, come out to the Thursday Evening Baldwin Park Skate where we do a much safer, shorter, and slower paced version of an urban skate!

THURSDAY

Thursday Evening EZ & Fitness Skates in Baldwin Park. (On a temporary basis - One skate only starting at 7:30PM - weather permitting).  Please read the General message board for weekly updates! Baldwin Park near downtown Orlando - Thursday Evenings by the water fountain of Blue Jacket Park inside Baldwin Park (site of the old Navy Base) on General Rees Ave between Corine and Glenridge. Skating options normally include:

  • Sidewalk skating
  • Skating through downtown Baldwin Park, then a longer faster skate along the Cady Way Trail
  • An oval track for speed, fitness, and technique skating is available at the Glenridge Middle School right next to the fountain
  • Note: - Events may vary by the skill level of skaters attending!

Beginners - Here is your opportunity for some free instruction! We have several people willing to spend time with you 'one-on-one' if you come out to this event. It is informal, and all we ask is that you call ahead, spend some time being instructed, and then take the time to practice what you have learned, while allowing us the opportunity to skate also. This event does not happen every week of the year - please check the General Message Board for latest information!

Contact Jennings by phone: 407-761-3917 for more information.
