Fool Group of the Month

What does it take be a Fool Group?

The Key:  Set yourself up for ridicule
Fool Groups have obsessive managers who show an insane passion for what they're doing.
You can easily see their mania because the groups have one or all of the following:

"Innovative" Design
Fool Group Managers do bizarre things with their meager knowledge of web design and try to pass it off as a work of genius.

Hyperactive Message Boards
Discussion that reveals the psychoses and neuroses of the manager and members

Technical overconfidence
MNS offers great features such as File Cabinet, Calendar, Photo Album and Chat Room.  Fool Group Managers abuse them all with style and flair.

Content
Information that is odd and/or useless. Good use of self-deprecating humor

If a Group doesn't have all of these but we can see it has potential for being satired, parodied and ridiculed, the CFfD staff may encourage its gullible manager to do things that will make it even more absurd.

Time's up
When you see a group disappear off of the "Fool" list, it doesn't mean that it stopped being foolish. Often, Fool Groups irritate a few people and the place gets shuttered.

How we find "Fool Groups"

The CFfD staff is always looking for "fool" groups.
It's what we live for.

Actually, most of our Fool Groups are found in the recesses of daHook's "tapeworm humor", as one "admirer" called it.
